It's easy to see why the cotton merchant, Thomas Orman, chose to build his home in this spot - overlooking the Apalachicola River, this antebellum residence, wrapped in green finery and swept with the scent of late summer blossoms, exudes even in the 21st-century an aura of peaceful escape. Now preserved as a Florida State Park, the house can be explored on hourly guided tours (Thursday-Monday) and the carefully tended gardens and grounds are perfect for a leisurely stroll (or wedding party!).
We offer a compact version of Go-Florida for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-Florida on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
