It's not often one gets the chance to catch a glimpse of the Florida Manatee in their natural environment - which is why a stop at Manatee Park, a facililty in Fort Myers, is in order when the season is right. While sun-seekers might hope for warmer waters it's in winter that you have the best shot at snapping off a picture or two of these ungainly vegetarian marine mammels. In summer there are still things to see, whether outward bound via a rented kayak or enjoying indigenous plant and animal life in this 17 acre park.
