If you can't make it to the wilds, why not bring the wilds home to you? Ok, Lowry Park Zoo might not exactly count as your own backyard but it's about as close as you'll get to the jungle without booking a flight. Makes eyes at prowling white tiger cubs, count the spots on a leopard and wander from the Ituri Forest to a sub-tropic rainforest without so much as blinking a wombat. Don't leave without taking the wee ones to Wallaroo Station to pet the goats and enjoy a pony ride.
