Feel like you were born in the wrong century? It's not exactly time travel but a visit to the Goodwood Musem and Gardens, northeast of central Tallahassee, might give you at least a glimpse of life as it was here in the 19th-century. In addition to a busy social calendar of history-related happenings (how about a free program on mourning practices during the Civil War presented by the ladies of the Historical Sewing Society?) visitors can tour the main Goodwood house, now open as a museum, or stop to smell the roses amongst the butterflies and blossoms bringing the adjacent gardens to life.
